Rosewood is situated midway between the Warrego and Cunningham Highways in the BremerValley surrounded by spectacular scenery, mountains and rural areas.

Rosewood’s proximity to Ipswich and Brisbane add to its popularity being only 15 minutes fromIpswich and one hour by rail or road to Brisbane CBD. Regular electric rail services run to and from Brisbane via Ipswich.


Rosewood is well serviced by the following educational institutions - Rosewood State School, Rosewood High School, St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School and West Moreton Anglican College at Wulkuraka plus numerous other schools within 30 minutes of Rosewood.   Rosewood also has a C& K Kindergarten and child care centre.


This regional township boasts banks, post office, Super IGA supermarket, hairdressers, takeaway shops, newsagent, service stations, fashion and gift shops, hardware and produce stores. Rosewood has the services of a Police Station, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue Service, accountant and solicitor.  Rosewood has a pharmacy, doctors, Cabanda Aged Care and veterinary surgeon.


Recreational facilities include parks, a Council swimming pool, hotels, bowling club and golf club. Numerous sporting clubs such as Rugby League, Soccer, Pony Club, Tennis, Gymnastics and Little Athletics are available for residents to enjoy. Service Clubs include Apex, Lions, CWA and Masonic Lodge. Other organisations are the Scouts, Guides, Agricultural Show Society, Historical Society and Toastmasters


Rosewood is becoming a popular tourist destination with many interesting attractions for visitors. Rosewood boasts many historical buildings including the building that Bremer Valley Realty is located. It was previously the Court House and was built in 1892. Another historical building is St Brigid’s Church which is the largest timber church in Queensland.


Rosewood is part of The Cobb & Co Tourist Drive which follows the route from Ipswich to Toowoomba. The Rosewood Staging Post is in Rosewood Town Square. Here you will find a replica coach and barbecue and toilet facilities. 


This region is being promoted as a destination for tourism with both state and federal governments’ classification of growth regions. The new Ipswich Council plan also has a very positive outlook for the region and the necessity to open up new areas of potential growth.
